Drift Bottle Review

Drift bottle is a messenger iPhone app that allows you to write a digital note and send it off into the Cyber Ocean. At a glance Drift bottle seems innovative and creative, but once I started playing around with it, Drift bottle became boring. In some ways drift bottle could be a useful app for a past time activity or it could be a waste of time and money.

For starters Drift Bottle anonymously sends you messages from others with the same app and vice versa. You can write your message and send a picture as well, and when you’re done editing it just throw it into the water. The background can be changed along with the audio in the settings menu, which makes for a good atmosphere of soothing sounds and wonderful sceneries.

Drift Bottle has some rough issue that needs to be fixed though, a location is given of the origin of the bottle but does not work all the time. After viewing a message and going to the main page you can still see the text in the background. If you don't speak any other language be sure to get a translator app or you just will not understand some messages. Besides these problems there is just one issue left, content.

I know that these messages are most likely confidential but there needs to be some form of filter for language use or separate categories for different age groups. A way to make a friends list and notifications would be a good idea for an update.

In my opinion Drift Bottle needs more work, time, and users. Drift bottle is a good concept but needs more work. Overall I give drift bottle a 3 out of 5!

Sketch Club App Review

Attention all artist and doodlers, may I introduce to you the Sketch Club app review. This app made by blackpawn.com is a powerful drawing app with a sturdy foundation of tools to use with ease. Along with being able to easily draw and color on the Sketch club app you are also able to upload and export to a wide selection of media outlets. The reason why I say this app is powerful is because of the fully customizable features of majority of the tools you have at your disposal. From just a quick little sketch to a wonderful piece of digital art, the Sketch Club app is all you need.

So what does the Sketch Club app offer for you? Well most importantly tools. There are over 10 individual tools to use on the Sketch Club app including the basics of the brush, eraser, fill, pen, smooth and smudge. These tools have settings and configurations such as size, opacity, shaping and mirroring. The features do not stop here, you have 8 layers to work with and a fully customizable color pallet, enter in your RGB or HEX numbers if you please for exact colors. Another neat feature is the zoom capabilities, with two fingers you can pinch, twist and turn your art work, and if you want to re-center just use three fingers to do so.

Once you are finished with your art work, what is next? You can save you work on the Sketch Book app itself, save it to your photo library or your work can be shared online for all your friends and family to see. How? Well by simply choosing how you want to export or upload your art work. You have five choices, by email, Facebook, iTunes, Photo library or on the Sketch Club online community. If you have some pictures that you would like to edit that are not on Sketch Club you can import them from you Photo gallery or iTunes.

The only problem I have had this app is the record feature there are different video size features and I have tried to record on all of them, still no progress. I must say though Sketch Club can be a strong too in your arsenal for portfolio and just to show off your digital skill.

Overall Sketch Club app gets a strong 4 out of 5!

Nyan Cat Adventure App Review

Be prepared to be magically amazed and entertained by Nyan Cat Adventure. I was surprised when I found this on the market. Seeing Nyan cat often online and on TV, naturally made me want to get Nyan Cat Adventure and check it out. For the first time in a while there is an app out that gives you joy and weirdness at the same time.

Nyan Cat Adventure is an iPhone app game in which you star as Nyan cat, a cute little kitten with a strange body. Your goal is plain and simple, survive the strange and deadly obstacle course before you are squished.

Nyan Cat Adventure is a basic game type where your character is running and jumping trying to stay ahead of the screen. Nyan Cat Adventure has various game modes such as …

  • Party- All the modes random
  • Jump- Tap to jump
  • Gravitate- Tap to fly to the top of the map, tap again and you glide back down
  • Fly (my favorite)-Tap to go up and release to go down
  • Toast -Launch yourself out of toasters to progress forward, some toasters are stationary others are not and have different directions.

In all these different game modes on Nyan Cat Adventure there are different collectables to avoid and to acquire. These are the objects that make this game very fun and challenging.

  • Peppermint swirls for points
  • X2 a score multiplier
  • A heart for health
  • A yellow shield for Invincibility
  • Down arrow for slow mow
  • Red and Green capsule for PARTY TIME!

A very strong word of warning if you have photosensitive epilepsy do not play this is game. Party Time will cause problems.

Nyan Cat Adventure is very exciting; it has smooth colorful graphics, classic in game music and original content. Nyan Cat Adventure app has an online leader board connected with game center so you can keep track your stats and others across that globe.

I did however have a couple of issues while playing Nyan Cat Adventure

  • While resuming after a long pause nothing happens, just hitting resume did nothing
  • After resuming I would lose a life
  • App shut down only 3 times during my experience

In short this is totally worth it, tell your friends Nyan Cat Adventure is here and check it out.

I give Nyan Cat Adventure a 4 out of 5!

The Hacker

Why would the Glider Corporation suddenly fire me and several other members of the programing team? The only problem in the new operating system was a Trojan, why would there be a Trojan in an unreleased OS? And so the mystery begins.

The Hacker is an entertaining and adventurous app where you play as a programmer who has been contacted by a former employee of the Glider Corporation. This anonymous informant gives reason to believe that some form of Trojan is on the new OS and the corporation is up to no good. After being introduced to a small team you begin digging for information on different databases all across the world.

Don't worry; you won't have to learn how to actually hack in order to play this you have the convenience of very difficult brainteasers. There are a good handful of teasers to play and plenty of sets to keep you entertained, or frustrated lol.

The presentation of this app was done very well. From the very beginning of The Hacker you have the point of view of a computer screen which you navigate through to get to the actual game, stats, leader board, and even retro mini games. The only problem I had with The Hacker was its very basic graphics and sound quality. Black, green and grey are the only colors in The Hacker, and there’s an occasional annoying beeping sound while trying to solve decryption codes, so you might have turn your volume down if you struggle on some of the challenges. The overall story was simple but great for this type of game. If you like puzzles and challenges I would highly recommend The Hacker for you, it can take a lot of practice and repetition, so don’t give up and fight the good digital fight.

Overall I give The Hacker a solid 4 out of 5.

Bee Invaders

Bee Invaders is very basic and classic game type made by DS Effects. Bee Invaders reminds me of just another version of Space Invader’s mechanics just minus quality. Bee Invaders is a difficult game and rarely crashes, it just lacks interest in my opinion.

Let’s take a look at the back bone of this game, you move the bear (your character) back and forth shooting honey to disrupt the bee swarm and eventually avoid them all. In the first level you start off with plenty of lives which is good for new comers, the bees get closer and the bee attempts to sting you. As you progress through the levels it will become hard to avoid the bees and you will not have as many lives as you did in the previous levels.

Automatic turnoffs for Bee Invaders:

Had to see the same ads for the same games after each round and the game quality was not the best.

There is no sound and sub-par graphics for this time and age.

If Bee Invaders was half off I would recommend it for people that like basic challenging games. Bee Invaders barely takes up any storage space and even has an online leader board. I only come across one bug while playing Bee Invaders and it occurred right when I finished a game, the game tried to load an ad page and nothing happened for long time.

Overall I give Bee Invaders a 2 out of 5!
