Happy Coloring-Animals By Childhood Fine Arts

Happy Coloring Animals is a interactive preschool game for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and an iPad app, that allows a child or an adult to start coloring animals, record animal names, listen to animal sounds and save their artwork. This app is similar to a farm animal theme with zoo coloring pages . There also is a flashcard section where the adult or the child can view the picture in slide show form. The Happy Coloring –Animals app also includes a guide for the use and function of each aspect. More themes and books can also be viewed and bought in the more section of the main menu. Colors are a key to a child’s development which this app capitalizes on from the beginning to the end of play. This app is very worth the money and should be played with an adult for help. Selecting colors can be difficult for a child because of the limited target zones of the colors and the pictures. When using the option of Fast-selection page it is very fluid and has a very clean look, which is similar to the iPods picture slides.

To start using the app you select Color In the animal is displayed in the top portion of the screen the name of the animal is in the middle and colors that can be seen on the bottom. First select the color then set the transparency level of the color to be displayed. Next simply tap where you want the color to be filled. Once finished and save you can either tap on the left or right arrows to switch animals or use the fast selection page. When in the Flash Card area you can record your pronunciation of the animals name and play it back using the two icons at the bottom, one is a microphone is the other is a speaker icon.

I expected this app to be similar to the doodle app where you tap and drag to color, but method used in Happy Coloring-Animals is a very useful tool for learning words and colors. I recommend this app for parents who have to time to walk through this educational app with their child. Overall Happy Coloring-Animals is good colouring games for kids and gets a 4 out of 5!
