Ultimate Spider-Man Total Mayhem app review
Ultimate Spiderman Total Mayhem is an action adventure app game for the iPod touch, staring your local Spider-man with many evil villains to lock up back in jail. Using your sticky web and Spidey senses you will venture around the town trying to piece together the mystery of the town’s chaos. The town is being destroyed, cars are being thrown and venom is going crazy! This game has a high replay value which will call for updates from the fans. Ultimate Spider-man Total Mayhem app has grade b graphics but makes up for that with the easy controls and cool features.
- When first looking at this game I thought this might be an app game with High Definition graphics, will it's not, but the creators never stated it would be. The Spiderman app graphics is more or less like early PlayStation2 games, with the basic details being block like and pretty colored; there is room for improvement though. I love the classic comic book theme threw out the menus with newspaper clippings covering Spidermans outrageous actions while loading. This keeps the eyes entertained well. I cannot view the artwork that I have worked to obtain during game play though, hope it will be fixed with the next update.
- Game play is really good for the average gamer. You have several different abilities to use and the different attributes to upgrade which aids Spiderman during his fights. All of the basics of Spidermans abilities are present and the Spidey sense button is really fun to play with. Punching combos and shooting web does become repetitive after a while, sometimes it’s better to just chase your opponent like rhino, after about ten times I barely caught up to him. Threw out the game you can upgrade Spidermans Strength, Defense, and Specialty by adding accumulated points from fighting crime. You should see some form of difference in Spiderman after getting everything to level 2. After each completed level you get a level ranking which includes a cute little Spiderman trophy, scored points, time spent, damage and your overall rank. I usually get awesome each time. The Boss of each level has their attack patterns which makes the game play a little better and not repetitive. One hint I will give you is when chasing rhino actually try and chase him and know the bad guys out of your range temporarily to keep up with rhino.
Snapshots can be taken with Peter Parkers camera as the little camera icon comes up during battles with villains. The snapshots of the pictures will be displayed under extras section along with Boss Rush, Artwork and the level ranking. This app runs really choppy at times when there are a lot of things going on at the same time, but this app is none the less well worth using less than 500 megabytes of your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad. I would have liked to buy this app for 3.99 but it is still worth every penny. Overall I give this app 4 out of 5!
