Sonic 2 App Review

Sonic the hedgehog is back just in time for school on the iPod touch. Fighting the evil Dr. Eggman aka robotnik in sonic 2 your trusty companion tails will join you on your adventures through 19 acts threw 11 different zones. Sonic2 for the iPod touch has the classic look and feel of the original console game and two screen views. For those who have never played sonic the hedgehog before your main weapons is speed, jumping, and collecting rings. Your enemies will be stationed along the path you take to slow down and distract you from the obstacles.

  • Pros for this game would be obviously that this game is original with all the worlds, acts, game music, two screen views and the game controls. The game file size is only 4 megabytes and loads in no time. In the gameplay menu you can switch your view from full screen to a smaller size for better details in color and animation.

  • Cons would be battery consumption, the dpad is very ineffective for thumb use and there was nothing new. When playing an average of ten minutes 5% to 10% of your battery is used up, you should keep your charger close. The dpad is a major problem if you have large thumbs. When trying to change directions or crouching in a direction I usually get the wrong movement. You can alter your hand position and use your index finger to solve this problem but you lose the handled comfort elements.

In the end, I would buy this game because it's a classic but i'd rather pay .99 cents or even nothing.
