Mirrors Edge App Review

Mirrors Edge is a 3rd person adventure-action speed runner game, it takes you through the streets completing missions and tasks for a revolutionary group that opposes a government bent on watching and monitoring all citizens. Originally released for the Xbox360 and Ps3 this console based game has finally made it to the iPod touch with grade b graphics and short levels. The Mirrors edge app game play is viewed with a side view and the controls are setup up perfect for this game with the side scrolling function.

  • The game play and controls are simple and effective for this type of game which needs to run smoothly at all times to make game play worthwhile. The main strategy of this version of the game is to keep moving and gain momentum, the only weapons you will have at your disposal is your quick slides and jumping kicks. I have not had any problems with the side scrolling setup and the game remembers multiple finger swipes when the time comes to use it. The menu screens look beautiful and the background music was very enjoyable. This app has good sustained playback quality during game play, when playing your own music which can be done in the media library under the extras menu. There is good power management and i think the characters could have been more detailed I know this doesn’t matter to some people in the gaming world but for 4.99 I would like a little bit more out of it from that department.

  • Mirrors Edge app is short for some people and might take a awhile for others depending on how good you are with sense of direction, if you have the patience to figure out where to go and your ability to avoid not getting shot.  For me this game is easy to play and the speed runner game mode saves the replay value just barely. Surprisingly this game is very stable and has not crashed on my iPod touch. Speed running seems to be gaining popular in the United States and i would really like to see the second installment of this game sometime soon I recommend this game for anyone who wants to improve on their timing skills and wants to show off them off on face book.

Despite the slightly high price you get what you pay for, a great console game on your iPod touch and ipad for only 4.99. Easy controls, acceptable graphics and low battery consumption makes mirrors edge a reasonable buy. Overall i give this app game a strong 4 out of 5!
