Red Bull Racing Challenge App Review

Red Bull Racing Challenge is a formula one racing game that puts you in the driver’s seat of Red Bull’s racing team, race on six different course and run time trials to show off to your friends on Facebook and Twitter. There is also an online leader board set up for a season contest and a grand pix contest, one of the winning prize’s for these contest’s is an opportunity to experience how the pro’s practice off the track on the Red Bull F1 Racing simulator. Red Bull Racing Challenge has the basic requirements for an arcade racing type game. Game modes are Quick Race, Season/ Career and Multi-player and one key feature for in game play is the HUD settings and driver controls. Controls can be changed to two other schemes; the default setup is gas and brake pedal with use of the accelerometer for steering.

This game was disappointing in ways that makes me not want to play this game after completing one season. Graphics is sometimes a crucial thing for me when it comes to racing games; I was not pleased at all to see that the only thing that was good as eye candy was the loading screens, video clips and pictures from the F1 2010 racing season and in the cockpit view while racing. The A.I in this game is not realistic at all, simple car bumps have slight effects on the other cars but once they hit the straight away the A.I vehicles are aligned perfectly behind each other. Vehicle damage is not present and the car sounds gets annoying after playing a couple of sessions. Weather settings and tire preferences for the car was enjoyable and fun to play with. A big problem I had with this game was gaining my speed back when coming back from the pause menu. After changing something or getting up to do something away from the game when I would hit resume and press the gas nothing happen except me slowing down, repressing the gas button a second time or pressing higher on the right side of the screen was a little solution that I found. Be careful when changing apps if you are multitasking or receiving push notifications, sometimes the game would close and other times it would not.

Red Bull Racing Challenge kept me playing for about 3 minutes every time I play and I believe this app should be only .99 cents. Overall this app gets a 3 out of 5! Thanks for reading
