Vevo App Review
Vevo is a iPhone/Ipod Touch/Ipad app that hosts artist music videos from the internet, streaming them directly to your device with high definition quality. Vevo has 20,000 cataloged videos and more than 7,000 artists. This apps strength is in its video quality and presentation. However the downsides are a major problem for user satisfaction two of them being, the actual streaming of a video and stability of the app. Another, plus for this app is its free, you can simply click on the app icon on the left and try it out for yourself, its great for your own pleasures and showing off your iPod touch, iPhone, or ipad to your friend.
- The presentation of the Vevo app is very beautiful and easy on the eye. When the app is opened you have a display of sliding photos of different artist's with information about the song. Videos, Artists and Playlist are the main categories for selections. Each category has sub arrangement buttons that allow you to rearrange or narrow down what you want to see, like Top Videos, Premiers, On Tour, Staff Picks and a few others. Before seeing the music video just like in rock band vevo gives you an interesting fact about music. If you want to see what music videos are popular in your area, simply select the Nearby Videos button in the More section. You can also start a collection of music videos by creating your own playlist, Share videos with Facebook and twitter and purchase videos from itunes.
- Stability and video lag is a major problem with the Vevo iPhone app. When watching a new and or popular music video it is hard to figure out if it would better to pause your video and let it load or find a super wifi connection. The music video lags and skips from time to time but its nothing new from Vevo, even trying to pause the video is frustrating mainly because of the time you have to wait till the play buttons pop up. Plus the audio and video get off during playback which will make anyone irritated. Vevo also has Ads before every music video which gets old very quick. Uncommonly the app will shut down but that's common with some iPhone apps, which I am pretty sure will be fixed in an update.
It is a nice relief from the Youtube app in my opinion. The quality of the music videos for Vevo is very good quality and right off the back you have a good selection of artist's to pick from. Overall this app gets a 4 out of 5!
