RedLaser is an application that has been long in coming, simply because the iPhones camera is not very good at close up photography due to no auto focus. The iPhone 3Gs has a much better camera, but fortunately this application works on the iPhone 3G just dandy.
RedLaser has been broken down into 3 components,: a manual digit entry for entering UPC and EAN codes in both 6-8 Digit and 12 or 13 Digit methods; A Camera recognition method where RedLaser scans the barcode; and finally a library of barcodes that you have scanned.
RedLaser is very accurate, extremely fast and very useful. Results were pulled from numerous sources with Amazon being the leader in results. I have found a nice little use, other than the obvious store lookup for price savings feature, but if you have a lot of older items that you may wish to sell on ebay, RedLaser becomes a very handy tool to find how much your items may be worth. This alone is saving you the frustration of looking up items manually.
Stability was always top notch and RedLaser was very easy to use and it has become an app that I actually do use a lot.
